Tornado case in newly released British MoD files
On November 5, 1990, three RAF Tornado jetfighter crews observed a large unidentified flying object with bright lights while flying in Dutch airspace. The UFO Working Group Netherlands re-investigated this interesting case in 2005 and presented an analysis of formerly unknown radio communications between the Tornado pilots and Netherlands military air traffic control on this page. The British National Archives have recently released UFO archives including files sent to the MoD's Defence Intelligence branch DI55, between 1987 and 1993. Among them are documents concerning the Tornado case, which can be found on pages 157 and 179-182 in file DEFE 31/180. The documents show correspondence between British MoD units discussing the response to UFO investigators interested in the Tornado case. On page 157, it is suggested that inquiries about the case should be directed to the Dutch MoD. They were however aware that the Dutch allies wouldn't be too happy that British UFO problems would be passed on to them. "No free clogs anymore." .
